When a human looks at the face of another human their eyes dart - TopicsExpress

When a human looks at the face of another human their eyes dart back and forth for an instant. It does not matter if it is a real person, a picture or on TV or movie screen or how many times you look at the same face. The reason is because our faces are not symmetrical. Our brain looks at the left and right side of the face to make note of the small differences between the two and thus recognize an individual even when they look similar like twins. The only other living thing that does this is the domesticated dog! They only do this when looking at human faces and not when looking at each other or anything else.
