When a soldier feels the pangs of defeat gnawing at his soul, it - TopicsExpress

When a soldier feels the pangs of defeat gnawing at his soul, it is the result of growing weary from a journey that has led him through battle after battle without sufficient rest. Weakness finds occasion at the moment the soldier becomes acutely aware of his fatigue. That is when failure becomes the most logical outcome, as defeat begins to make its home within the soldiers conscious being. The soul lays down. It is also at this moment when victory lays just over the hill; barely beyond the soldiers vision, only a few war-torn steps away. The spirit of a true soldier understands this instinctively, and will always stand up and march again, so long as the body will obey. Victory is often achieved merely as the reward of not giving in to the defeat of failure. Missions fail. Soldiers prevail. M. Tisland
