When doing sumo or wide stance squats I would encourage anyone to - TopicsExpress

When doing sumo or wide stance squats I would encourage anyone to really hit 90° as the main focus of this movement is to activate Gluteus max and abductors...in addition I turn my toes out to emphasise on the area even more :) I wasnt going as deep as I would normally as I currently have a lower back minor injury which is affecting extension and flexion of hips. But I keep the movement constant and continuous and never lose muscular connection. Also for those with tight gastrocnemius, Soleus and/or tibialis anterior or low ankle mobility (big part of population suffers from either or all) I would advise to add a little platform when squatting not to compromise form and avoid the weight moving onto front of feet, which will potentially result in knee or back injuries and poor exercise performance.
