When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. Thus begins one of the most powerful documents ever written by mankind, the Declaration of Independence. Today the Middle Class in NJ and the entire United States have been all but forgotten by its elected representatives in Washington. Sure they all talk a good game, but most of the politicians in Washington do not really know what the Middle Class goes through on a daily basis. They do not know our worries of trying to make ends meet. We live paycheck to paycheck and any savings we may have had is long gone having been used to plug the holes in our family budgets. They do not know our worries of trying to plan for our children’s education and our own retirements – and not having the money to put aside for either. They do not know our worries of trying to find good paying secure jobs. Sure the unemployment rate is coming down – oh so slowly – but how many of the jobs that are being created do not pay enough to support a family? There are enough lawyers in Washington. We don’t need another doctor or businessperson turned activist in Washington. Washington is full of career politicians too. We need a representative in Washington that is one of “us”, Middle Class. I want to be that representative. I am an ordinary Middle Class citizen and worry about the same things you do. It is time for the Middle Class of NJ to put aside the political labels and join together in unison. I am asking NJ voters to write my name in, JACK A TROTTA, at both the Democrat and Republican Primaries on August 13th. Together we can obtain a real Middle Class voice in Washington. I will serve as your Senator, no matter the political label. I will fight for the things that the Middle Class needs so desperately, number one being good paying secure jobs. Without a good secure income, nothing else really matters.
