When millions of Americans hit the road this week, they are more - TopicsExpress

When millions of Americans hit the road this week, they are more likely to be thinking about turkey dinners and family get-togethers than the condition of the roads and bridges they’re driving on. But the piece that aired on “60 Minutes” last night should be a wake-up call. Our country’s infrastructure is falling dangerously behind, which is why I’ve proposed new funding mechanisms so we can put people back to work on the huge backlog of projects. As the next ranking member of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, I will push my colleagues in Congress to have some courage and seek a long-term solution. We cannot wait for another bridge collapse before we take action. I hope you can take 15 minutes to watch this very important piece.
