When one of the largest American Rap artist, Jay Z, refers to himself as a niger/Nigga and his wife, a lovely pop/RB artist, as a female dog ( a bad b----), Beyoncé: in which she displays no objection:it makes me wonder how far Americans of Negro decent, have really overcome. When my girls were younger, 11-12, they came home one day and said a little girl in our neighbor hood had called them a nigger. They didnt understand the insult, and thought that she was using the Spanish language in reference to them and basically laughed at her reducing word/insult to a ignorance or lack of education; because they were black. Now why were that not familiar with that ignorant name calling-terminology she adopted from her family/ancestors of European decent? Answer: Because their mother and father/WE never referenced ourselves to that nonsense, nor TAUGHT them to be prejudice; in regards to race/ color. However, Winsome and I did teach the to be prejudice towards ignorance and cultural discrimination. How did we teach them; we taught them by word and deed?. And, we have had, while they were growing up. still have, has many, many, different colors in the midst of our dinner parties, Bible studies, and life activity to back our standards. Now I was raised in the Hip Hop Era, and absolute loved the music. The Era when rappers like Public Enemy,( produced Fight The Power) Chub Rock,(Treat them Right?), and KRS One, D-Nice ( BDP) co-sponsored the epic/socially conscious hit: Self- Destruction.......which it seems, in this day in age, the record was prophetic. Americans of brown or dark skin; let us not forget that our ancestors were subjected to much degradation, family and cultural disenfranchisement, innumerable amount lynchings/ murders, denied human rights; to freedom, education, and land ownership/economic opportunities, at the hands of their fellow American neighbors of Caucasian or European decent. And the very name, niger/nigga (in which they were referenced, having their cultural identity reduced to that of monkeys and ignorant human beings) this huge rapping Icon and his wife travels to France and other parts of the world producing world wide videos/concerts: broadcast-ed everywhere, by the highest paid/notwork for entertainment!! Now how rich and degrading can a person become .Does the ability to make money, also make one shame less: abandon all thats wholesome and respectful? News flash: You are repeating the worse part of American History and are still high priced slaves, of a different era, sold to the highest bidder/master. You have dragged your very lovely wife further into this charade, imitating gangstas like Bonnie and Clide (robbers and murderers) referring to her, Beyonce, in a similar terminology as past American slave masters! You have the audacity to refer to yourself and her as to the likes of a glorified Aike and Tina Turner......in a song?!!!! Eat the cake Annie Mae?!!! Are you serious?! You and she have the whole world watching and millions of fans following and imitating your everyone move; style, language, and the way you relate to one another. Now I must say that at one time, I was a fan of Jay Z, and digged his laid back rap game, andI still love Beyoncés voice, and some of her music. But, the social representation of people of color, women and young black men; black men from disadvantaged homes and neighborhoods (like Marci Projects and Macre Holmes, out old hood,) who look up to you and admire your success. This representation is tainting the legacy of your music and setting black folks back, to a the days of a national slave and inferior identity, reversing some of the freedoms our ancestors died for. The freedom not to be reduced by law and terminology to an inferior race. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Mr. Activist Medgar Evers, President of Tuskegee and advisor to President Lincoln; Frederick Douglas/Patterson, Harriet Tubman, Solomon North, Marcus Garvey, Paul Bogle, Nat Turner, The Black Wall Street, The Freedom Riders, and innumerable amount of people and supporters have died for your to liberty freedoms: education, economics, and even the right to express your artistry. But I guarantee you their work, protesting, and even sacrifice of their loves was never meant for is to express our selves as niger/niggas and female dogs. Below is a an untold history lesson and link that everyone should be familiar with especially you Americans referring to your selves as nighas and female dogs. All American history has yet to be revealed, but this sight offers some insight. Fir all those people who say this was in the past and people should move on or need to her over it. Unless the real story and truth about racial history and past violence is exposed and white and black people repent of the adaptation of their ancestry corresponding to the spirit of superiority and inferiority, partially and prejudice, segregation and degradation, (even amongst Christian congregations?), and Americans( especially stars and public figures) stop identifying and promoting social and mental slavery; We can never move on or over get over it. God in Christ has set me free from a spirit of inferiority and self-hatred, handed down for generations, and I pray He will do the same for all.
