When our ancestors signed the treaty, they signed our rights as Indians away, we wanted our own land, to have the same rights as a Caucasian lives. guess what? They pay land tax! They pay for theyre health, They go to school get an education, further that education and get a job! A job that can pay for youre health & your family. So sad to hear everyone wants this pipeline for those reasons, for a short term job & health benefits like its some easy way out of poverty and everyone is magically going to get hired at this pipeline. Also if I am not mistaken I thought we turned our provincial park into what it is to protect it? Because it was sacred?! Now we hear people saying well we put the high way through there. First thing that comes to mind for me is so if we already tore it up once why feel the need to do it again? When I took treaty training, bc First Nations class & worked at the visitors centre at the memorial lava beds park centre I was proud to be nisgaa, now I feel for every reason they fought has been corrupted... I wish yall could be more like Mohawks at least they werent sell outs.
