“When people meet me, I want them to meet God too!” This gave me incredible goose bumps yesterday from a new friend, who I will be joining tomorrow for the hot yoga class, which I’m so looking forward to! This is the second time she’s given me such goose bumps, as the first time was when I dropped my son off to her house for a play date with her sons. At the door she has four beautiful frames with the word “welcome” translated into four different Nigerian languages! I felt extremely welcomed and comfortable leaving my son with her, even though my husband was so against me taking our son to a stranger’s house! Maybe this statement from her explains why I felt so comfortable agreeing to this play date to begin with, as up to that point we spoke so little to each other, but she gave off such good vibes that I had no doubt that my son would be safe and well taken care of! “When people meet me, I want them to meet God too!” Wow! And when I meet anyone, I want to see God too! This is something I’m working hard on! I said to my son Joshie a little while ago, “Why can’t everyone be easy to love like you?” I was at the stove making oatmeal for his breakfast. In Nigeria, I have a cook, so I could’ve easily asked her to make it, but I decided to make it for him myself. He says to me, sitting in a chair in the kitchen watching, “Mommy, thank you for making oatmeal for me.” Joshie is just three years old, but he’s such a wonderful little guy, always wanting to help, always happy and always a pleasure to be around. His fav thing to say is, “Thank You, God!” along with “See your life!” a Nigerian term he has picked up! However, learning to love those who do nothing to earn our love is the difficult one! Remember Jesus’ words: “If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?” To love the people who love us is easy, but when we could love those people who are not so easy to love, then we reach another level of living! WE GO WITH GOD!
