When the BC Liberals talk about democracy they are actually talking about state sponsored capitalism. That is the sort of capitalism that bailed out the financial sector with taxpayers’ money while leaving working and middle-class folk with nothing but their debts. That is not my definition of free enterprise. When teachers talk about democracy they are usually talking about those checks and balances that keep governments honest: the judiciary, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, unions, political activism, a legislature that actually sits in session so that the loyal opposition can do its job.
