When we have a goal we wish to accomplish, it is useful to first - TopicsExpress

When we have a goal we wish to accomplish, it is useful to first examine what might obstruct us and remove those obstructions. For instance, if we wish to vacuum our carpet, we first remove the clothing, shoes, toys or other objects that would impede us from swiftly and smoothly accomplishing this goal. In the same way, when we have a spiritual goal, we need to remove obstacles. For those who wish to become a Bodhisattva Buddha taught the Bodhisattvas Confession of Moral Downfalls. This practice removes the obstructing karma and allows us to become a Bodhisattva. We may think, because of the title of the practice, that it is a practice for those who are already Bodhisattvas. This is incorrect. It is a practice for all of us who wish to be Bodhisattvas. Therefore, the sincere practitioner will engage in this practice daily, swiftly remove obstacles, and definitely accomplish their goal!
