When we (humans) watch films we pay attention to the actors and other things in the scene. So what would a computer pay attention to if it was shown a scene from the same film? Ben Grosser from the University of Illinois asked that question and developed a visual representation of what a computer would choose to watch in the famous scenes from 2001: A Space Odyssey, American Beauty, Inception, The Matrix, Taxi Driver, and Annie Hall.
