When you look at the world through someone else’s eyes, can you - TopicsExpress

When you look at the world through someone else’s eyes, can you see that life is just as challenging for them as it is for you? Can you see that we’re all doing the best we can with what we know in the moment and that, when we understand more, we automatically do better? Until I could understand these things, I couldn’t forgive those who judged me or found me wanting, especially myself. I was like a broken record with the needle stuck in the same groove. I stewed in my own juices of anger and frustration, born out of self-judgment, judgment by others and the demands and expectations of living in the world. Without love, understanding and forgiveness in our hearts, how can we change the picture we see of the world? How can we change the way we are? How can we move forward? Once I could admit to myself that life is just as challenging for others as it was for me, and that my parents were doing the best they could with what they knew (see The Healing Power of Forgiveness), I couldn’t help but love and forgive them. I couldn’t help but forgive myself. By ending my habit of expecting, demanding and judging, I freed myself to see the good things my parents and others did for me, how much others do for me now. When we free ourselves of judgment, we free ourselves to acknowledge how good we are, how much we do and how well we do it. If my Encounter with Unconditional Love is any indication, in an environment of love, acceptance and appreciation, we want to be and do the best we can. Isn’t that a hoot? Enjoy the movie! P.S. Can personal and/or cultural habit patterns of judgment, demand and expectation, which denies us a sense of personal worth and power, lead to forms of undesirable behavior, other than that portrayed in this video? Roger/Pete – realtalkworld and Conscious Creator Forum on Facebook “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having (creating) a human experience.” – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin Instead of money, power and privilege, would love, truth and joy be a better measure of success? One isolates us in the material world of separation, scarcity and competition while the other encourages us to see our oneness with All That Is. Using love, truth and joy as our measure of success provides us with a moral compass. It encourages us to live for the love of Being and Creation, not run from the fear of suffering and death. It inspires us to look for and bring out what’s best in ourselves. “How you define yourself and the world around you, forms your intent, which, in turn, forms your reality.” – Seth We create our own reality from what we choose to believe about ourselves, and the world around us, whether by intention or inattention. If we don’t CONSCIOUSLY choose our beliefs, we UNconsciously absorb them from our surroundings. If beliefs, attitudes, values and expectations create our reality, can we afford not to question them? The more we love, understand and appreciate ourselves, the better we treat ourselves, and the world. The secrets of the universe lie hidden in the shadows of your experience. Look for them!
