When you think of Halloween you think of pumpkins, skeletons, black cats and witches. This headstone bears only the initials T A on it, and is rumored to be a Witchs grave in Thomaston. It can be found near Thomastons ancient burial ground but segregated some distance away from everyone else. In Connecticuts distance history more than 35 people (Mostly women) were accused of being Witches from 1647 to 1724 and at least 10 were executed. More about these poor people are listed below. I have a friend who is distantly related to Lydia Gilbert who was executed for Witchcraft in 1654, and all evidence points that her husband just wanted to get rid of her. It is safe to assume all these people were innocent, and no one should be persecuted or killed for their religious beliefs. The Witches I have met in real life are wonderful warm people and to think anyone would harm someone for their beliefs is truly horrifying
