Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking peoples hats off - then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can.- Herman Melville (Moby Dick) Yes the track was not ideal last night. Ok, it was downright bumpy. It caused some wrecks (mostly cosmetic). It made for some tempers to run hotter than the engines themselves. And yes, by the end of the night it caused many a caution to be waved. To those who have publicly lodged complaints on social media, all I can say is welcome to dirt track racing. Get over it. If you are one of those who bemoaned the surface conditions of our Saturday night getaway destination, this is most likely not the sport for you. Kudos to SBR for getting it in shape at all so that we could all do what we love to do. With that said, we didnt last long last night because we were ourselves involved in a minor wreck, just enough to knock us out of the race but not enough to require multiple days of work. Many thanks to Joel for letting me drive last night for my birthday. It was unfortunately short and bereft of accomplishment but fun. See yas next week.
