Where I was camping this past weekend, maybe a 2+ hour drive from SanFran, there was a lotus pond with coy fish. There were also 2 purpley lotus, in bloom! Lovely and a yet a bit tattered at the edge of their petals, just past their peak. I though to myself that I would make time the next day to photograph them. The next day they were gone. I was disappointed that I had missed it. Drat! Then I had a good chuckle at myself, those little beauties were just reminding me of impermanence: arise. abide. subside. repeat.
