Where are all the me of integrity? I ran across this exert from Benjamin Franklin in 1787 regarding his speech to the Convention for Forming a Constitution for the United States It is powerful and would like to share it with you; In the beginning of the contest with Britain whenwe were sensible of danger, we had daily prayers in this room for the Divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered...and have we now forgotten this powerful Friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need His asistance? I have lived for a long time (81 years) and the longer I live the more convincing proof I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it possible that an empire can rise without HIS aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that except theLord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. I firmly believe this, and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall proceed in this policial building no better that the builders of Babel. My..so much we have forgotten..Ben Franklin did not separate stae from prayer like we are trying to do today..the separation was so govenrment would not interfer with our religious beliefs not for government to cut out all inklings of our religious beliefs...prayer in school, teachers praying, students praying or even holding a Bible study aft school..well I could go on but Mr Franklin said is so much better than I could. Pray for our country like you never have before....pray in urgency for we live in a very perilous time.
