Where was Bella? Bella was picked up by a wife and daughter at - TopicsExpress

Where was Bella? Bella was picked up by a wife and daughter at the car wash by the Stripes on Old 83 and Westgate last Tuesday. (If you knew of my search zones, I was NOT looking in that area). I believe Bella was headed to the one place in Weslaco she knew incredibly well, the Whataburger on Westgate. Mother Bear and I are still boycotting them because they wouldnt let us put up a sign. The family picked her up and took her in. Sofia was the name they found fitting. They bathed her, clipped her nails and loved her. She was safe and sound for all the nights she was gone except one, Monday night. The family quickly fell for Sofia, and when they saw the big yard sign I put up on Old 83 and Westgate, they knew they had Bella. The family did not want to let her go as they had lost their own puppy and felt Sofia was a gift to them from God. I firmly believe they felt the power of all the prayers and efforts of so many people and it compelled them to do the right thing for me, but the hard thing for themselves. They called me on Christmas day, unsure of whether they should. They were giving me a Christmas Miracle and causing a Christmas heartache for themselves. The phone call and subsequent conversations seemed a bit shady, so when they asked me to meet them, there was a concern this was all a ruse to rob me of the reward money. My friend J and his in-law Sanjay went in separate vehicle and scoped out the locale and helped keep an eye on me. The Weslaco PD was across the street making sure everything was cool. When i saw the man, I could see in his face that their decision to let Sofia go was not an easy one for their family. The tears that rolled down the daughter and mother were not easy ones for me to ignore. My own joy had to be suppressed. They did not ask me flat out for the money, I shook the fathers hand and gave him the $360 I had on me and told them thank you. There are good people out in the world. I am so grateful for them picking up my Bella and taking such great care of her. She did not lack for food while she was away. I dont have their names, only a number, but I will always be grateful for the decision they made. I am also grateful to so many people who helped me reunite with Bella. From prayers, to time, effort, thoughts, money and so much more, this happened because of the efforts of so many. I would especially like to thank Johnny Arce, Sandra Reyes Arce, Carrie Torres, Frank J. Medrano Jr., Lois Silvanovich, Lourdes R. Lago, Carleigh Ghent, Abel Aguirre, Mary Vasquez-Colunga (and all my immediate family that is not on the Facebook who came out and put up signs and searched for Bella), Amy Long, Tibor Lageman, and so many more. This never would have happened without all of the people I named and SOOOOO many more. Thank you from Bella and myself. My angel is home. :)
