While I am glad that Ms. Carroll addresses the need for PARENTS to be responsible for teaching their children kindness and perhaps a value for human life, rather than putting it all on kindergarten workers and teachers, I think that bringing Political Correctness into Halloween is a bit much. I doubt that in this day and age, that anyone would want to dress as a hobo or a homeless person anyway, but where do we draw the line? Would dressing as a Native American be offensive if you are not a Native American? Would dressing as a police officer or soldier be considered too violent? I mean how can you dress as a policeman or a soldier without carrying a replica gun, which could get you expelled from school ? Can you cross-dress or would that be offensive to Transgendered people? People used to run around in Nixon, Reagan and Clinton masks at one time, but would wearing an Obama or Michelle mask be considered racist? I am sure that it would. Just about everything is considred racist nowadays. Everything is racist except Black Colleges, The Miss Black America contest, Ebony Magazine and others too numerous to mention. Yet I dont see any Miss Caucasian America contests nor any White version of Ebony magazine that only carries articles on White Pride and White Supremacy. Its also interesting that entertainers may not use black face, yet black entertainers like Dave Chapel are free to use white face to make fun of white people.
