While I was in fifth or six grade, I received news that my role model was diagnosed with cancer. My role model, who was going through his senior year at Mississippi Valley State University, had to sit out the rest of the school year because of cancer. Facebook, I was really devasted because I thought I was about to lose my hero. The hero then and The hero now is my uncle Reggie. This guy was all I wanted to model my life after. Now, 15 years later after the diagnosis of cancer, I continue to ask him questions pertaining to things that will develop me from a boy to a man . Even though we are only 11 years apart, you are more than an uncle to me. I consider you as a hero, motivator, friend, and even my brother. I thank God for sparing your life so you could see me develop into what I am today. Happy Birthday, and I love you deeply. Reginald Thompson
