While driving home today from having supper with friends, I couldnt help but shed some tears, along with a song that kept going over and over in my mind-If I could only hear my Mother pray again...thinking of my dear, sweet, precious, darling Mama, who prayed many, many times in the last years of her life! She prayed for a grandson, and God gave her Josh Parham! She prayed for a long, fruitful life, which she had! Maybe not fruitful in monetary means as most categorize a fruitful life! But she was blessed with the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit...love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law! She left a legacy that some families dont possess...that of verbal prayer, praying outloud...a legacy passed down to me, to Josh. Dont misunderstand...theres nothing wrong with silent prayers, a necessity in certain times, no doubt! But, theres nothing like hearing your Mama call your name out loud to the God of Heaven, asking Him to save you, keep you, help you, bless you, use you!!! If ever our children NEED to hear us pray, they need to hear it today!!! God help us!
