While going through VANGUARD news online, I came across this story with the headline: Female banker defrauds Emir of Kano. There were many comments as usual at the end of the story. Anybody conversant with comments by Nigerian readers will not be surprised or shocked to find people raining abuses and insults on the newsmakers and the subjects of the story. As always there are two divides- on ethnicity and religion. But sometimes there is a third opinion or a third force to strike a balance and maintain sanity. Check out these comments by 1) Striker, 2) Babakadi21s reply and the balance by someone called onenigeria. Very interesting dialogue and typically Nigerian. 1). STRIKER: Its now clear that the hijab worn by muslim women is like the mask worn by armed robbers. 2). Babakadi21> striker: Or the one by Christian nuns. 3).oneNigeria : The views of most commenters here does not represent the views of majority of Nigerians. These views do not represent the vision of the founding fathers of Nigeria. We want a Nigeria free from tribal bigotry and corruption. A Nigeria where the rights and views of everybody should be respected irrespective of tribe ,language or creed. I am personally angry here that supposed Christians will insult the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)or a situation where Muslims insult Christians the followers of Christ ,a very important figure in Islamic religion.
