While preparing the Homily for this Sunday’s Mass at St. - TopicsExpress

While preparing the Homily for this Sunday’s Mass at St. Tom’s, the tragedy occurred on Purdue’s campus on Tuesday. In the second reading this weekend we hear Paul tell us “I urge you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree in what you say and that there be no divisions among you.” It is times like this that can cause divisions and tensions. For us Christians we are called to something else – a different response. A response motivated by love and peace. Two young people died this week. Our beloved Riley Smith and another – a young man most of you didnt know but some did. People taken from us – and it hurts. Let this time be a time when we come together to share in one another’s grief – and in one another’s love knowing that Christ is with us in all we are called to do. ~Fr. Patrick Baikauskas, OP
