While the situation surrounding the original shooting of Brown by police is still somewhat unclear, what concerns me is what has happened since then. This isnt an issue of races opposing one another, its government vs. the people. Police using tanks, MRAPs, and gearing up like theyre invading Fallujah is not ok. Government should fear the people, not the other way around. I have to wonder how many of these cops washed out of boot camp, but want to look like Ricky Recon, Ramboing it out in the street. On top of that, instituting things like curfews is a ridiculous idea. You cant ground an entire city, and tell them to go to their rooms. Thats condescending, and a violation of the right to assemble. If anyone should have MRAPs these days, it should be individuals who are beginning to feel that they need them just to get to work in the morning so they dont get hit by stray bullets from a police officer shooting at someones dog.
