While watching the movie The Goonies Dad,...I like those - TopicsExpress

While watching the movie The Goonies Dad,...I like those bikes. I want one of those bikes next. Can I get one? Well, sure man. When your a little bigger. Maybe Daddy can get one, and we can ride together? Without looking up, Yeah, but I need one to go riding with my friends in the mountains. Its got to have a basket to keep the treasure map in In typical dad fashion, Yeah, or to carry your alien To do what? while looking up with eyes that look for the false sincerity To fly over the moon, what else? Besides, are you sure you wouldnt want a skateboard? ....and would you add one of those REALLY cool orange flags, like on their bikes. I motion to the screen, so his eyes see the flag again Yeah, its got to have one of those. But, hey Dad, do you think Ill have to bike around a bunch of lighthouses that have Monsters, and jail?, He says concerned Monsters, and jails?! Maaaaaan, only if your lucky. Theres a lot of adventure to be found on a bike. And the scary parts are sometimes the best parts. Creepy old places are just part of the adventure. I try to convey to a five yr old. With a full breath, or sigh. I cant tell sometimes, he states. No, well, I want to ride with my friends on adventures through the mountains, and on curvy roads in the woods, but I dont want to have to go to any creepy lighthouses. I probably would hide beside it, and....and run around it when the Freeetellis are inside. Yep. And then it hits me. My son has proclaimed he wants adventure, and sense of being able to do that has dawned on him in the simplest way. The will to seek adventure. And have a way in which to do it. He marked the bike as a sense of freedom, and a way of physically manifest the ownership independence. Ok, that may have been a little deep, but it saddens me to think that what he sees, and thinks will be there when he gets to the age of twelve, or so may not be there. Like the neighborhood bicycle gang. All you had to have was a gear driven form of transportation for bipeds. Usually only involving two wheels. Not very exclusive, but the endless rides, constant visits to the creek, long great hills to coast, power slides, homemade ramp jumps, and PRICELESS, invaluable experience, are the thing thats exclusive to this. To sum up, and end this blog. I want to post that is an awesome thing to see what drives a little boy, or girl, and have the blessing to know how to nurture it so. To pull from things so simple greater blessings that could otherwise, not been known As my father said to me, and I will say to my son, SON! I do not know where I got my rambling bone, but I sure as hell know where you got yours!
