White Death With the launch of Clint Eastwoods American Sniper, we thought wed do a post on the most successful sniper ever - Finlands Simo Häyhä. With 505 confirmed kills in the Winter War with the USSR, Häyhä remains the most prolific sniper in history. What is even more remarkable is the fact that his kills took place over just 100 days, thus averaging over 5 per day. Little wonder the Russians called him Belaya Smert (white death).
