Who Says Time Has To Be In Order? The Franck Muller Crazy Hours: A Study In Being Unique Dubbed the Master of Complications, Franck Muller began creating his own wristwatches in 1983 in Switzerland. That same year he even designed his own tourbillon (an addition to a watches movement that counters the effect of gravity), which as many of you know is a highly complicated and expensive function that can be seen on very high-end watches. Mullers watches have graced the wrists of celebrities such as Demi Moore and Sir Elton John. While the Franck Muller Crazy Hours does not feature a tourbillon, it does feature perhaps the most daring design feature weve ever seen on a watch...the watch hours of 1-12 are re-arranged non-consecutively, and despite this fact, the hour hand will leap from one hour to the next instantly when a new hour is reached. Wait, what does that even mean? It means that the face reads (starting from the traditional 12 oclock position) 8, 1, 6, 11, 4, 9, and well you get the point. But, like we said, the hour hand does jump to the appropriate hour when it should, and the minute hand continues its rotation the same as any watch.
