Who knows what a day may bring forth? An earthquake may be readying to shake our world. A tidal wave may be gathering steam and heading our way. If we could control the world around us, and ensure continuous "blue skies," we no doubt would do so. But God has not given us such power and has not placed us in such a world. What He has done is told us that He will be our Refuge in storms big and little. He has told us that He will be our Strength, day in and day out, to face whatever life serves up. He has told us He will be an immediate help to us, even in our most desperate moments. With such a God walking beside us through this unpredictable life, holding us and upholding us, we need not fear. Be still and know that He is God, and He will be your God, until the last moment of this bumpy ride called life. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah." (Psalm 46:1-3)
