Who remembers rotary phones? Growing up, we had one phone in the house and it was in the kitchen...dont expect any privacy. And god forbid someone should call after 9pm! If they did, surely someone had died. .. lol. And you never could get the cord to stay unraveled, especially those long long cords. It was like twirling a jump rope. Where did they think you were going to walk to? The grocery store? And there was no voice mail or answering machines. If someone didnt answer after 30 rings. .. enough time to get to the kitchen from anywhere in the house., basement, upstairs, or running from the backyard, you just assumed they werent home or otherwise occupied. Remember otherwise occupied?... like having dinner. .. no one answered the phone during family dinner. Now with the instant, constant contact of electronics it seems somehow an obligation to answer calls, text, and instant messages immediately. Fun memories.
