Who suffers most?...There exists three types of persons, one is the PHYSICAL MAN, which is portrayed in the Bible as ESAU, and the MENTAL MAN, who the Bible casts as JACOB. The last man is not a person, or one who is ignorant of his true identity as Son of God. This man the Bible calls ISRAEL, or one who has rediscovered his true nature and Identity as an extension of the Creator. Paradoxically, it is not ESAU who suffers most for his lapse in memory. It is JACOB, the mental man, or, the one who believes he is one with his mind. A physical man is not concerned with his spiritual nature. His mind is firmly rooted to his body, which he believes to be himself. Like ESAU, give the PHYSICAL MAN some wine, a woman, and feed his gullet, and, he tends to be content. Ignorance is indeed bliss in his case. He affects a godly nature but God is far beyond his ability to conceptualize. He tends to be strongly religious and needs guidance from an authority source just to be moral. Seldom does he rise beyond this physical state because he is not willing to exert the effort to take control over his mind. The mental man, however, JACOB, is another case altogether. The mind makes a wonderful servant but a cruel master. JACOB is faced with the arduous task of gaining control over his mind which, if you have tried, is not an easy matter. Mental personalities tend to have frequent bouts of anxiety, depression, and mood swings. They tend to listen to every thought that runs across the screen of their mind. Depression runs rampant in this group.. Unlike the physical man they are not contented being the bodys abject slave. They know they are not the body, but, this is all that they know. Suicides are high with this group due to the torment they experience from their ceaseless thinking. Your Nobel Laureates come from this group. The SPIRITUAL MAN, he who has discovered his true Identity in God, does NOT suffer at all, for he has come into the realization that all forms of suffering are self-imposed, illusionary, and thus suffering drops away from him as does a scab from a healed wound. He alone is FREE. ~PA~.
