He really doesnt know any history of the city and according to him it wasnt turned around until Dia took over the Bisquit. American Lumber wanted to move into Nabisco as the rail siding was there and it afforded them a place where rail cars could arrive loaded with lumber. As an old historical manufacturing community we did lose many companies that helped the city by providing wages and taxes. We did not leave the City until the early 2000s and I dont think I walked around with my head up my butt. Both my husband and I were involved and worked to improve the City of Beacon. I served on the Charter Revision Commission and my husband served on the committee for the New City Hall/ Police Station. When I read the article I was dumb founded. Could someone please tell me where the H--- I was living cause now I am totally lost.
