Whoa.. I just spent five minutes writing an opinion on why I dont like to kill anything and it got wayyy too deep. But after reading it, I looked at it with a Not Bad Obama meme face. Because I think humans have taken ourselves out of the natural equation and claimed some kind of planetary dominance. Yet as a follower of Buddhism, and believer in science, I see everything composed of a singular energy. A chemist would say everything is composed of potentially 118 elements on a periodic table, and even deeper, a physicist would say these elements are composed of a handful of different kinds of particles (atomic particles, photons, neutrinos, etc.) Everything is made up of that, including myself, the plants and the animals. As hippy-dippy as it sounds, when I see a spider or a tree, I see the same composition as myself; because we are one in the same. For this reason, no matter how high on the sentient-staircase the organism is, I don’t kill it unless I utilize it for self-preservation (food, clothing, protection, etc.) This should be the only reasons we were designed to kill.
