Whooooooo. Havent posted in a while. Heres a short drabble. Enjoy! Feedback is welcomed. C: The Lucky Ones He looked up to the night sky and pondered his mind for an answer, no matter how much he searched he just couldnt figure out why. He had done everything for her, he had given her the world. And she threw it away like nothing. Tears started slipping down his face as he thought about her; she had broken his heart, she had ripped it out and stepped on it like it was nothing. He couldnt understand where everything went wrong, yet, in the back of his mind, he knew that something was taking her away from him. He clenched his fists and bit his lip to prevent himself from crying out, his mind went back to when he saw them together. *earlier today* He was walking down the streets looking into every store, trying to find the perfect gift, he knew she wasnt picky but still wanted to give her the best. His eyes lit up as he saw her favorite store to shop, quickly he made his way towards the shop and glanced at the display to not miss anything. He stopped and saw it, the perfect gift for her, it was a pendant laid upon a gold chain, a delicately pedaled rose was settled upon the chain, painted with a light pink pastel. He grinned like a fool and went inside to purchase the gift. Quickly he made his way to the clerk and asked to purchase the pendant. He inhaled sharply and quickly looked towards the ground, both of their faces heating up. She went to grab the pendant, and came back to the desk. He asked her to wrap it to which the clerk simply nodded and went to the backroom, he missed the wistful look upon her face. As he waited he looked around, wondering if there were any hidden treasures amongst the store. He made his way to the back and let his eyes roam. A soft laugh up ahead caught his attention, he shook his head and laughed softly,it reminded him of when he would come here with her. They would share secrets and whisper sweet nothings into each others ears. He rounded the corner and froze, his eyes widened and he broke out into a cold sweat. There she was, sitting with another guy, their hands were entwined, not palm to palm, but the few last fingers. He gulped and quickly turned back around, he smoothed his shirt and swallowed nervously, he pulled a book off the shelf and let it drop; startling the two out of their stupor. He shuffled from around the corner with a smile on his face. Hey! Hana! Hows it going ? He said cheekily, she quickly let go of the other mans hand and stood up. Hey Ryu, she said quietly, she nervously pushed back her bangs and tugged at her sleeves. The other man stood and made his way towards them. He held out his hand, looking at Ryu. Ryu grabbed it and shook it briefly. Hey man, Im Jin, nice to meet you. Ryu murmured the same and looked at Hana, she avoided his eyes, looking towards the ground. Jins phone vibrated briefly and he quickly pulled it out. Sorry guys, I have to leave, Ill see you next time man. He gave Ryu a nod, and pecked Hanas cheek then quickly made his way out the store. Ryu felt a stabbing pain to his heart, he looked away and finally looked back at her when he was gone. So... Thats it then.. Ryu stated quietly. Hana looked up abruptly, her eyes filled with pain. No, please Ryu its not. Hana protested, she took a step towards him, yet he took a step back. He held his hands out Im front of him to stop her. No, Hana, I thought things were going good between us. Yes, we arent even together, I know we are on a break, but really, how could you do this to the chance we could have had to be together ? Ryu exclaimed, his voice shaking in anger, yet he forced himself to stay quiet. Hana tugged at her sleeves and shuffled her feet. It was silent for a moment until he broke the silence. He looked upon her with a broken heart. For how long ? He said softly, his voice no more than a whisper. Hanas eyes met his and quickly looked towards the ground. Hana... How long ? He said again, his voice a little more forceful. The last few months of our relationship, Ryu let out a breath hed been holding. He ran a hand through his hair and forced himself to stay calm. So, youve been seeing him since then.. No! She exclaimed, I couldnt do that in a relationship, we just were talking, we were just friends. She finished quietly. But, this entire time, it was him, wasnt it. He shook his head and leaned against the wall. Is he the reason why, he swallowed, and cleared his throat, why you were so, adamant about this break, Ryu looked at her and waited her answer. But she didnt give one, and her silence was all that he needed. I see... Ryu pushed off the wall and took a couple steps forward, Then this is the end of us, Hana. Ill be honest with you, I cant believe you let someone draw you away so easily. I never thought that this is how we would end.. good bye Hana, I hope to never see you again. He walked back to the front and stepped outside, he turned and made his way home. *present time* Excuse me! Sir! Sir! A voice yelled, footsteps following after him. Ryu quickly wiped his tears, turned and saw the clerk from the store. She caught up to him and bent over catching her breath from the jog. Ahhh, Im so out of shape! She said while giggling, a cheeky smile on her face. She held out her hand and waited for him to take it. You forgot this sir. Ryu looked at the package and looked at her puzzled. You didnt come all this to give me this, did you ? He questioned curiously, she bit her lip nervously and let out a smile. Yeah I did, then the smile turned into a wistful look. I was there, when everything happened, she said quietly, Ryus eyes widened as he realized what she was talking about. But that was hours ago! How could you have known where I was going ? she scratched the back of her head and smiled sheepishly, Well after you left, I comforted Hana, then politely asked where you might be since you had forgotten your gift, she was very sweet and told me some places. Its such a shame that she let someone like you go. The pendant was beautiful, she said with adoration in her voice. She snapped out of her stupor and shook the bag, here, take it mister. Ryu looked at the girl, really looking at her, chocolate brown hair with the most amazing hazel eyes hes ever seen. Her button nose and plump full lips and her rosy cheeks made her seem like a doll in this weather. She had on a rose colored beanie with a black oversized jacket. He took the bag and continued to look at her, her eyes were settled upon the ground. She shrugged into her jacket and kept pulling the collar up in an attempt to keep her neck warm. He smiled and took off his scarf and wrapped it around her, she was surprised and tried to refuse, but he wouldnt let. Its okay, I dont use it much anyways. She grabbed the scarf and caught a whiff of it. He smelled like fresh pine and cinnamon. Thanks mister, she mumbled, then quickly turned to leave. Ahh! Wait! Ryu exclaimed catching her hand then quickly letting go. Sorry. He said quietly, Her face was red and she refused to look at him. Here, he said, the bag extended out towards her, her eyes widened and she quickly shook her head. No, no, no, I cant take this. She exclaimed. Please, as a gift from me.... Saya, my name is Saya, Ryu, its a pleasure to meet you, they both smiled and she took the gift from his hands. Saya blushed and clutched the package to her chest. Will I see you again? He asked Saya, she smiled and giggled. Of course silly, just come visit me anytime! She said happily, waved goodbye, then made her way back to the store. Ryu smiled and shook his head at her antics, she reminded him of a child, so pure and innocent. He pondered todays events and thought that even though today had started off uneventful, it had brought him closer to someone who he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
