Who’d have thunk it? Gramps the boxer is an escape artist. The barrier that I use to keep 50 lb Bonni and 70 lb Bodi in the back basement was not even a challenge to 40 lb Gramps. He shoved it aside and met me in the living room, all tail wagging innocence. It’s not that being confined to the back basement is such a hardship for a dog. They have access to a very nice yard, complete with dog beds, one in the shade and one in the sun. Then inside in the back basement are more dog beds, big fluffy pillows, and a variety of filled Kongs and bully sticks. Even so, I wouldn’t mind giving him access to the house if he were a little more discriminating about where he wees. Hopefully my reinforced barrier will hold and I won’t come home to find three self satisfied dogs lounging on the sofa and puddles on the floor.
