Why I love my fiancé: by Shannon Perkins Thank you all for the congratulations on my engagement. I cannot believe the most beautiful, kind, amazing soul on earth wants to grow old with ME. It frequently occurs to me that he is Prince Charming and was likely on his way to the princess, when he stumbled upon the train wreck (cute train wreck albeit) that is me. Take that Disney. Sometimes the messy red haired non princess gets the prince. Anywho...he has taught me more about love than I ever thought I was capable of learning. Thanks for the compliments on my ring. It was 8 dollars from Walmart because he thought I needed something to signify our engagement and its the most beautiful thing Ive ever had. I would have settled for a twist tie, we just didnt have one. Years ago, a good friend of mine said she knew she found the right one because it didnt matter how many days went by, every time she heard his car in the driveway, her heart jumped. I wake up every morning in a dream, I go home in a dream and if it lasts a day, a year or forever...at least I got to experience it. I owe that to God and my children, who opened my heart and let me love me enough to be in my own fairy tale. So believe them...I spent 40 years dreaming of mine and I only had to eat a few poison apples along the way. I love you Benjamin . Thank you for loving us.
