Why am I hell-bent on spending thousands of dollars on a new workstation computer? Because trying to edit videos on a DELL XPS 15 when it takes 12+ hours to render a 23 minute video in Sony Vegas with very little edits & layers is downright AWFUL. My post-production set-up is in dire need of a serious upgrade. To address the build-your-own-computer crowd: The #1 reason Im not building my own computer: I dont have the time nor the patience for it. Id rather spend the extra $500 to have all my custom-ordered parts assembled for me with warranties & service included....as opposed to making sure my tower glows in pretty colors. Seriously.
