Why are counter cultural ideas difficult to even contemplate? Socrates says that the unexamined life is not worth living. Within our American culture,I believe, exists the protestant work ethic along with catholic traditions and both have much credibility,but must be examined by the totality of what the scriptures are saying to each of us that are willing to come to examine truth with a contrite heart,and following 2 Timothy 3 :16.There are many throughout the world that add and subtract to the scriptures and this can stifle the growth of spirits teaching in each believer.What if we were open enough as believers to divorce our selves from all we had been taught and allowed His spirit to teach and confirm those things that are true,leave behind those things that were not, and those things we are not ready to absorb, place on the back burner. Then if we have fruitful lives with peace in our heart, growing daily in faith and love, and measuring everything by 2 Timothy 3:16, we can be fashioned to be what He desires for each one of us.
