Why did Narendra Modi speak in Hindi at the UN, a language most members dont understand instead of English, even though he is quite proficient in it? Thats the hypocrisy of Indians. When we speak in English at any event abroad, people come up with,Why do Indians dont take pride in speaking in Hindi. When they do, people come up with, Why show-off speaking in Hindi when you can speak in English?. When the Japanese do this , Indian people say See, they are so proud of their culture and we? When the Chinese and Russian do this , Indians- See, we are so ashamed to show other people our culture and always play it safe by conversing in English! Many people living in rural India who never bother about UN speeches, will pay an attention to such speeches. They understand the prime ministers view on political matters and his strict warning to nations encouraging terrorism.It creates a feeling of love towards our national language.It sends a positive message to all the Indians that while we are adapting to English language, we respect our own language too.
