Why do Christians set human constraints for what miracles can be? - TopicsExpress

Why do Christians set human constraints for what miracles can be? Why do we assume the only miracles that can be performed are the healing of sickness and demonic control? We love to say we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, but our small-minded and often selfish prayers dont show it. Wouldnt it be a miracle if Christians could seek strength and resources from God to combat the mass incarceration of black and Latino males, educational inequity, rural poverty, and a lack of corporate social responsibility? What about preserving our environment, promoting literacy, sustainably addressing the student loan debt crisis, creating more geographic access to healthcare, and dissolving youth unemployment rates that rival Sub-Saharan African and Southeast Asian countries. These topics may not be explicitly outlined in the Holy Bible, but neither are each persons individual purpose or desires here on earth. We have the keys to open doors in scripture, prefaced by precedent and the tangible example of Jesus Christ. You dont have to be a preacher or prophet to be a Kingdom-focused Christian, actively seeking opportunities for changes and miracles to be performed amongst Gods people. You can be a doctor, lawyer, teacher, banker, counselor, judge, police officer, salesperson, or athlete and still work towards solving some of our worlds greatest challenges with the covering of our Father in Heaven, teachings of His son, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the expertise and passion Hes blessed you with. Be encouraged and prayerful to share that very passion with Gods hurting people so that we may continue to be the salt and light of the earth.
