Why does this lake level issue seem so political? Wouldn’t a reasonable person want Lake Granbury to be similar to historic lake levels? That is where Luminant comes in, our nuclear neighbor in Glen Rose. Luminant is requesting about 100,000 acre feet from Lake Granbury/PK per year for proposed plants 3 & 4. To put that number in perspective, Lake Granbury is about 129,000 acre feet total. They NEED the Brazos River Authority to get the new water application permitted. Without the BRA permit, 3 & 4 cannot happen in current form. Should Luminant/BRA do more environmental studies about how much more additional stress our system can take for water usage? Does Luminant continue to keep the good neighbor standing if they pursue additional water even though it appears that Lake Granbury & Possum Kingdom Lake couldn’t handle the additional stress?
