Why dont medical professionals listen to patients? For weeks (no, really I mean its been four weeks since her heart surgery) my sister has been in horrible pain, unrelenting! She complained about it in the hospital, when she was released she called the office about it, and finally went to the ER on Saturday. Still no relief. Then yesterday I remembered that after Barbs first bypass, she had pleurisy. Sue asked the nurse at the docs office if this could be causing her pain and they said, yep! Put her on a whomping dose of Ibuprophen 4 times a day and it is like a miracle! She is so much better! This is a common side effect of open heart surgery so why didnt they think of it before she left the hospital?! And also, while she was in the hospital she kept telling people that she had thrush, when she finally got to doc to look at her tongue, she sure as shootin did! What the ....? Hello??? Take a history and listen to what the patient says! Checking the symptoms of pleurisy, Susan was listing classic symptoms! So, medical friends, please discuss and explain to me. And you may start calling me House! (I knew it wasnt Lupus!)
