Why is Burmese so difficult to find materials for? It has over *33 million* native speakers. One could argue that Southeast Asia simply isnt paid much attention by the linguistic community compared to, say, Europe or even regular-East Asia, but Vietnamese only has about twice as many and is *much* easier to find things on. Moreover, Thai only has 20 million (monolingual) native speakers and easily has more materials than Burmese; same with Lao, with 20-25 million. Windows doesnt even have a built-in Burmese keyboard, nor do its browsers display Burmese text non-mojibake by default. (Dunno about Macs.)
