Why is it that when one enters into a phase of skepticism, the doubt doesnt seem to begin with ones own thinking. Instead of the thing Im doubting being the real problem, maybe the problem is with my own thinking. If Im going to become skeptical, I need to be skeptical of myself as much or more than the alleged object of my skepticism. It just seems that skeptics never quite get this point. They want to be skeptics while being quite sure that their own thinking is the epitome of logic and reason, when in reality it may well be the other way around.
