Donaill Murtagh, Resident gardener He first came to Tankardstown in 2010, after years of studying organic and sistainable horticulture both at home and abroad, to begin restoring the unused and overgrown Victorian walled garden to make it both productive and attractive. He has since overseen the expansion of more of hte gardens at Tankardstown with an adjoining field and herb garde, and a woodland area where hens and ducks supply eggs. Rob Krawczyk, Head Chef Chef Rob Krawczyk draws on the resources of Tankardstown Estate and its surroundings to carefully create menus that reflect the produce of the season, sourced locally and organic where possible, and also works with a local forager for wild herbs and sea vegetables. More news! Other innovations Rob has introduced, to Tankardstown are a smoker! So now meats and produce can be smoked in-house, while The Cellar Restaurant has a new wood-fired pizza oven, fuelled from fallen trees on the estate.
