Why other demigods including Lord Brahma could not approach Lord Narsingha? From SB 5.18.27 purport – It is fashionable for materialistic persons to compete with the power of God. When so-called scientists try to manufacture living entities in their laboratories, their only purpose is to defy the talent and ability of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is called illusion. It exists even in the higher planetary systems, where great demigods like Lord Brahmā, Lord Śiva and others reside. In this world everyone is puffed up with false prestige despite the failure of all his endeavors. To challenge the authority of Narayana, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is the business of asuras (demons). Yet sometimes suras, or devotees, are also bewildered by the illusory energy and falsely claim to be the maintainer of the entire universe. Such incidents are described in the Tenth Canto of Srimad Bhagvatam, where Sukadeva Gosvami tells how Lord Brahma and King Indra became puffed up and were eventually chastised by Kṛṣṇa. SB 6.17.32 – Lord Siva to Parvati – “Neither I [Lord Siva], nor Brahma, nor the Asvini-Kumaras, nor Narada or the other great sages who are Brahma’s sons, nor even the demigods can understand the pastimes and personality of the Supreme Lord. Although we are part of the Supreme Lord, we consider ourselves independent, separate controllers, and thus we cannot understand His identity.” Regarding the possibility of Bhakta Prahlada approaching the Lord whereas others could not. It’s not easy to understand the transcendental dealings of a pure devotee like Prahlada with his worshipable Lord Narsingh. A incident similar to this is Citraketu incident wherein Parvati ji was astonished with his behaviour as he seemed on transcendental platform even on being cursed by her. And Lord Siva explained the position as below: SB 6.17.27— Lord Śiva said: My dear beautiful Parvati, have you seen the greatness of the Vaisnavas? Being servants of the servants of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari, they are great souls and are not interested in any kind of material happiness. SB 6.17.28 — Devotees solely engaged in the devotional service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Narayana never fear any condition of life. For them the heavenly planets, liberation and the hellish planets are all the same, for such devotees are interested only in the service of the Lord. SB 6.17.34-35— This magnanimous Citraketu is a dear devotee of the Lord. He is equal to all living entities and is free from attachment and hatred. Similarly, I am also very dear to Lord Narayana. Therefore, no one should be astonished to see the activities of the most exalted devotees of Narayana, for they are free from attachment and envy. They are always peaceful, and they are equal to everyone. Let’s read a little about Bhakta Prahlada, how he is a very special dear devotee to Lord. Like in below prayer to the Lord: svasty astu vishvasya khalah prasidatam dhyayantu bhutani shivam mitho dhiya namash cha bhadram bhajatad adhokshaje aveshyatam no matir apy ahaituki May there be good fortune throughout the universe, and may all envious persons be pacified. May all living entities become calm by practicing bhakti-yoga, for by accepting devotional service they will think of each others welfare. Therefore, let us all engage in the service of the supreme transcendence, Lord Sri Krishna, and always remain absorbed in thought of Him. (Srimad-Bhagavatam, 5.18.9) In the purport from Srila Prabhupada – “Prahlāda Mahārāja is a typical Vaiṣṇava. He prays not for himself but for all living entities — the gentle, the envious and the mischievous. He always thought of the welfare of mischievous persons like his father, Hiraṇyakaśipu. Prahlāda Mahārāja did not ask for anything for himself; rather, he prayed for the Lord to excuse his demoniac father. This is the attitude of a Vaiṣṇava, who always thinks of the welfare of the entire universe.” Personally I don’t feel anything strange in this incident. I have observed many times in many families that when father or grandfather’s mood is not good or angry due to some office issue or anything else, the mother or grandmother send the little child with water or anything and seeing the innocence/love the man’s returns to his ownself. The child always approach with love to his parents whether they are in any mood, he can see only love for him in their eyes. He does not understand the intricacies of relationships nor is he interested. He knows that they love him and will love him always. This is just an example from a daily life. Similarly I have seen my boss sometimes in bad temper due to whatever reasons shouting on each and everyone and if suddenly there is a call from his son or daughter, he is no more the same person. Within a second the scene has changed. Jay Narasingha Deva Ki ... Chant these names with love and you will feel the ecstasy: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare ... Hare Krishna ...
