Why teach history like it’s 1776?! Join us on Saturday, January 24, 2015 for our teacher PD, “Digital Resources from the Maryland Historical Society.” Scheduled from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and open to all K-12 teachers, this workshop will introduce participants to the exciting new online instructional resources offered by the MdHS and by organizations around the web. Sample one of our interactive Distance Learning programs, and learn how you can beam museum collections and experts into your classroom using just a webcam, laptop, and projector! Check out MdHS H.I.P., our new Historical Investigations Portal, where students can use their laptops and tablets to learn how to use historical thinking skills to analyze primary sources and draw conclusions about important questions about the past. The workshop will focus on MdHS resources, but we will familiarize participants with the online resources offered by other institutions as well. And, as always, a tour of MdHS exhibits is included.
