Why the World Economic Forum reduces my job prospects. In a society preoccupied, dominated & consumed by media sensationalism it is not unfair to often hear long radio debates centred within jurisdiction of the beloved educated elites convictions, quite often print & online journalist rated articles from experts & unelected institutions views flood local and international tabloid. The native population, made to worship these experts, must heed each and every word they utter. Not surprisingly, worker unions & other less valued critics, must first right long essays before they are called to studio, for few minutes, not to explain the situation but to criticise the gods of socio-economic apparatus. The 44th annual meeting of World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, is an explicit recent example: 2 500 CEOs, Nobel laureates, bourgeoisie economists, government officials constituted undemocratic delegates at the deliberate exclusion of the Labour Federation Movement. South Africa had 100 representatives with NO delegates from labour unions and the broader Left formations. In Davos(host of WEF), the global elite representative of imperial capital , economic policies are not drafted, and agreed upon on consensual basis but paradigm shifts are imposed: economic coercion and political blackmail enforce executive junta emphasis against antagonising nations. It is in Davos, were business unilaterally adopts measures of cutting costs: downsizing, outsourcing most functions, subcontracting floors, use of labour brokers, firing troublesome workers, & drastic reduction of the wage bill. Job creation is not even an item but abstract terms like economic growth parades the capitalist propaganda which later is adopted by native bureaucrats. Jet propelled-governments from the periphery follow suit: dictated by technocrats from global undemocratic institutions like Goldman Sachs(research institute), IMF, World Bank, WTO-as domestic universities, business councils, labour organisations, & civil society in the peripheral Third World possesses no original intellectual property an alternative is not presented against these West originating and class & geographical bias institutions. Their suggestions are resolutions & those agreements are economic policies in Africa. No foreign imposed solution will solve the jobless economies in Africa, unemployment continues to increase along the steep unabated underemployment with the latter seldom analysed separately. In Davos, the undemocratic, zero independent & illsovereign Reserve Banks are mandated to increase repo rates for foreign owned banks in the periphery to maximise profits: bondholders, property merchants, loan sharks all benefit & multiply profits after commercial interest rates are raised. The dictatorial Monetary Policy executive of the South African Reserve Bank-SARB, in our context, justify this imposed decision with illusion ...weve to increase the repo rate by 500 basis points, to curb the negative effect of inflation & stabilise the economy. Who causes the inflation to increase in an stiffe inequal nation? The wrongly calculated CPI & the distorted PPI are used to make this a societal phenomenon, interest rates are often increased and partially reduced to meet demands of capitalism nothing is considerate nor inclusive about the decision of the SARB. The poor bears the brunt of this burden. Davos as the International fora of capital inflict the socio-economic ills on poor nations who must forcefully create new markets & conducive trade conditions for falling imperial First World blocks. Municipalities, state corporations are given privatisation formulas to outsource & hire services from private companies this later massively reduce employment, increase costs to the state and deepen the crisis of poverty. Education is commodified to reduce the mass understanding of politico-economic dynamics as access is inched for the luckiest few, also to arrest innovation & productivity in the colony. Liberal organisations erupt with domestic capital institutions consolidating a neo-liberal offensive to undo any improvement in labour legislation, work conditions, native entrepreneurial activities inhibited: this neo-liberal offensive has no majority interests but it disguise its real agenda, that of advancing settler capitalism, at the expense of the native voter & supporter it progressively monitor the Davos resolutions at its material benefit. Ideologically the neo-liberal offensive is not against the national compradorial weak junta, strategically it guides the native parliamentarian with austerity tactics, to endorse neo-liberal convictions, hence today weve NDP. Reading from Davos, there are no jobs for us, skilled or not. An unscrupulous era of neo-colonialism continues.
