#WhyDoWeWrite? We write to negotiate with our ancestors—our words bartered across generations like coins or beads at the market, in exchange for guidance. Shall we tell this story first or maybe the other one? Will we #remember them for who they were…and how they have shaped us to become who we are? Shall we emphasize this world or maybe focus on the next journey? We write to tame the hunger pangs of longing for something more tangible, more real, something less shallow, something more concrete. We write to close the gaps between our reality and our dreams. We write to drive wedges between mediocrity and progress, between stillness and change. Personally, I write to negotiate with Obanga (God)…to bargain for what I need, instead of what I have. At least, that’s why I write. Why do you write? I write to breathe. I write to live…to be sane. Tell me, why do you #write? bit.ly/1qABBky #writing #literature #AfricanLit #African #Africans
