Wildcats Win Danville Regional...Local Post Season Results DANVILLE - The Salem Wildcats won the Danville Class 2A Cross Country Region, nipping the hosts by a single points 52-53. Joining them as teams advancing were Champaign Central, Charleston, Mattoon, and Taylorville. Salem senior Brenner Webster finished 3rd for Salem in a time of 16:20 followed by freshman Hayden Wimberly in 8th at 16:42 and sophomore Blake Quandt who was 9th in 16:44. Danville senior Caleb Hummer won the event in a time of 15:37.30. - At Triad, Waterloo won the team title followed by Carbondale, Mt Vernon, Traid, Mascoutah and Marion. Waterloo senior Lance Mueller won in 16:10. - At St Anthony, Robinson junior Noah Tennison won the race in 16:14.67 and led the Maroons to a team title. They advance along with Teutopolis, Olney, St Anthony, Lawrenceville, Marshall and Newton. - At Freeburg, the host Midgets won the team title and their junior Jonathan Kraus ran the course in 16:42 to win the individual title. Also advancing as a team were Columbia, New Athens, Dupo, Lebanon and Breese Central. - At Carlinville, Shelbyville ran away from the field and won the event. They advance with Mt Zion, Carlinville, Clinton, Sullivan, Neoga and Heysworth. Mt Zions Curtis Reed won the race at 15:15. - At Benton, the host Rangers won the event and advance with McLeansboro, Harrisburg, West Frankfort, Massac County and NCOE.
