Winston County AL: Free State Four Paws - Johnna Waid Franks Tomorrow is a big day for Free State Four Paws. Woody, is the last of the precious dogs dumped at Little Natural Bridge in Winston Co. early last summer, to take their Freedom Ride. Melinda Shelton Bailey spent months making daily visits to the park to feed, water and try to build a relationship. He was finally trapped and brought to my home, only to escape a few days later. Still, he stayed close by, showing himself at the edge of the yard whenever he took a notion. We kept bowls of food and water out for him. Finally, he was trapped again on January 6th and has spent the last 10 days in our home. He went from refusing to eat, to sneaking to the food pan when we are in another room. He wags his tail allot now, even likes to be petted but only when he lets you know its okay. When at first he refused, he now seems to enjoy the walks on a harness and leash. He is being tamed with love, kindness and patience. He is the famous Woody of The Free State of Winston, spending his last night here and taking his Freedom Ride early tomorrow morning. We will surely miss him, already haunted by his eyes. We will never forget you little man. Cant wait to see you in your new home. https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=10155178948965157&set=a.10152678856495157.1073741825.747665156&type=1&theater¬if_t=photo_comment_tagged
