Wish the director of the Danville Humane Society would take a few lessons from the no kill shelter directors.I find it interesting that after a change in management at high kill shelters they turned things around and put new programs in place such as fostering and pet adoption days saving many lives and became NO KILL shelters.There is no reason for our local shelter to have over a 94 percent kill rate.Now Ms Dean is trying to bully Pittsylvania County into paying for an addition to her shelter and I use the term lightly or she will turn away animals from the county.Please give the Humane Society of Pittsylvania County your support and save a life.These are an amazing group of volunteers that work very hard to place dogs in loving homes and relocate to other rescue groups and they are great at it.There will be a meeting at Chatham Middle School Jan. 14 to decide on building a new facility for the County please plan to attend and help these folks out.
